RE: Is Victory a silent American?

You are right about stock seats. They suck. When I bought and picked up my new 05 RKC my wife road about 15 miles and told me to pull over . She got off the ride and said " she would not ride again until I got a different seat". I said " looks like you will not be riding again ". We love our new seat. A Mustang touring seat. About 28000 miles together on this seat. Hey Guys Have Fun and Ride SAFE. Kpapa

RE: Anybody like the new Road King Custom?

Georgia King, A good weld shop should be able to repair the frame. Depending on how bad the tear is ( and not bent to bad ) will determine the cost. You could check out some custom bike shops or body shops to see if they could repair. trouble with a lot of custom shops is they like to build new and not repair. Hope this helps. RE: Anybody like the new Road King Custom?

When I was Commander of the American Legion Post had a salesman try to sell me U.S. grave Flags that were made in Japan. I have a supplier with Flags made in U.S.A. He said , But they cost a lot more. I told him,Cost is not the issue. I would not put a U.S. Flag that was made in Japan on a American Soldiers grave especially on the ones who fought the Japs. He said that they would not know the difference. No, but I would and that they fought for the U.S. and as long as I was Commander the Flags on there graves would be MADE IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA! I asked if he ever served in the Military. No he had not served. Told him he just does not understand it is about Honoring the ones who Fought for that U.S. Flag. It is more than just a piece of cloth to anyone who has served. When you go shopping for clothes try to find clothes made in the U.S.A. Good Luck! Have Fun Ride SAFE.

RE: Where did you ride today?

Ride Slow2004 Know how you feel riding with the kids. I love riding with my son. He started out at 7 yrs old trail riding. At 16 yrs old got a Ninja 600 ( many sleepless nights for Mom and Me )More miles on back tire then front tire, if you know what I mean. Then a Hurricane 1000. He would say " Harleys are for old men". Got that out of his system and now rides a 2005 Springer Classic. He has slowed down allot and rides my speed. Now I have a grandson into crotch rockets. My son now knows what it was like in my shoes. Enjoy every minute riding with your kids because they grow up fast. Wait until you get grandchildren riding and they say " can't you keep up POP?" You got to love it. One thing with me riding with them it slows them down. Have Fun and Ride SAFE. kpapa

RE: A Must Watch

FREEDOM IS NOT FREE. We need to build our defense. Reagan did a good job building up our defense and then Clinton downed sized defense, closing bases, decommissioned ships and cutting personal. Then 911. Or have you Forgotten? Our Military deserves the best no matter what the cost. If you never served in the Military you would not understand. To be a President of USA they should have served in the U.S. Military. It is a Honor to serve our Country. A Strong Defense is good for everybody. Have Fun and Ride SAFE. kpapa

RE: My Yamaha shop Devoured

Glad to hear you back and everyone is OK. Thank GOD for the answered Prayers. It takes a special person to do what you do , helping others in time of need and in the back of your mind wondering about your own family , hoping and praying they will be OK. Know what you went through. Once it is all behind you take some time and have fun and enjoy your family. Life is too short. Have Fun and Ride SAFE.

RE: Power Commander USB III Fuel Mileage

BlueFalcon That sounds a little better. Anytime that they come out with new bikes and change the emissions I think you lose. I sometimes wonder if octane is really what they say it is. With the high price of the gas ( high octane being the highest )How much do they sell, how long is it in the stations tank before it is sold, does gas lose any effect in the tanks before we buy it? I try to buy all my gas at the same station when putting around home. I think some brands are better than others. I live in the country and it is all open road. I do not know what my ride would get for mileage in the city. Do you think the fairing and trunk cuts your mileage? I have a windscreen ( short windshield )on my ride and do not ride with out it. In the old days when I was tough the bugs did not hurt. Maybe the bugs are getting tougher. I just know they hurt more than they use too. When I go to Washington DC for Rolling Thunder next May I will check my mileage in the city. Have Fun and Ride SAFE. kpapa

RE: Power Commander USB III Fuel Mileage

Have a V & H fuel-pak , V & H Big shot duals , A Ness Big Sucker air cleaner on my RKC and get 44 to 45 mpg. My son has power commander, Screaming Eagle air cleaner Screaming Eagle pipes on his Springer classic and gets 38 to 40 mpg. He is a little harder on the throttle. Our rides are 05's and they do not have O2 censors. The Ultra is heavier than our rides. I would think you should get better mileage than you are getting, somewhere around 40 mpg. I am old school and not into the EFI Harleys. Do you do allot of city, back roads or interstate riding? What octane gas do you run? Have fun and Ride SAFE. kpapa

RE: New to site

No, I sold the Indian to buy the 57 Harley. I don't have any of the old bikes. Wish I did. They would be worth alot more than I paid for them. When I was young I didn't think of the future and what they would be worth. I rode them hard, broke-em, fix them, I like them all. I like this 2005 Road King Custom the best of any one I have owned. I guess it is because I ride it ( not as wild as I use to be ) and do not have to wrench on it all the time. They have come along way with these new bikes. Have Fun and Ride SAFE. kpapa

RE: New to site

Never rode a small bike. Started out in 1966 with a 1946 Indian, then went to a 1957 Harley Pan Head, then a 1978 Shovel Head, 2005 Fat Head. Been down once in 1976 with a front tire blow out.( OUCH! That hurts) You got to be 110% when you ride. Don't let your guard down for a second. There are alot of Idiots on the roads today. Ride what ever you Like. I don't believe size matters. It is all in what kind of bike you learned on. kpapa

RE: Since I don't have an American V-Twin

Last Sept had a nephew stop at a pub for a beer and show off his new ride. ( 2 and a half hrs later )Leaving the pub he pulled out in front of a van. We just had a memorial ride this past Saturday for him. Use to tell him "you have to be 110% when you ride". He would say "I can handle it Unk". I guess he can. Have Fun and RIDE SAFE. kpapa

RE: 2009 Victorys

My nephew sold his crotch-rocket to go to collage last year. He was lost this summer with nothing to ride. I asked if he ever rode a real bike. He said just his crotch-rocket. I let him take my RKC for a spin. He is hooked. Said "He didn't know you could go so slow a have so much fun and the girls dig it" I don't care what he rides. It is all for fun. Have fun and ride SAFE.
